Topic: Iron Sex Educator Showdown

This year’s Sex Ed Conference will feature a hot new contest – the Iron Sex Educator competition!  The competition will test the ingenuity and creativity of dynamic sexuality educators who will build a lesson on-the-spot from a surprise box of supplies. The winning team will be able to designate which sexuality education organization is awarded the cash prize!

Where: Somerset, New Jersey

Audience: Sexuality Educators, students, therapists, counselors, researchers.

Overview:  The Center for Family Life Education (CFLE), a national leader in sexuality education, is celebrating its 30th year by hosting its first TWO-DAY Sex Ed Conference. This year’s conference features experts in the field of sexuality presenting 28 workshops about a variety of topics including sexuality and disability, sex and the media, how poverty affects learning, pregnancy and sexually transmitted infection prevention, gender and sexual orientation, healthy relationships, sexual violence, technology and more.

Congratulations to Don Dyson and “Mystery Contestant” Whitney Howzell of Planned Parenthood of South Florida and the Treasure Coast (PPSOFLO), winners of the first annual Iron Sex Educator competition.  Their $1,000 prize will be shared between Widener University’s program in human sexuality and PPSOFLO’s “Teen Time” program.  Thanks to all the competitors who were energetic, thoughtful, creative, and entertaining.
